Well, before we even got a glimpse of the episode featuring Mary
Lynn, the show was taken away from
us.
Dirk Oltmanns, who runs the
Unofficial "What
About Joan" Website has posted several different articles about
the demise of the program. It seems that the program, after only two
airings of the season, averaged 8.7 million viewers to go with its 6.1
household rating and 9 share. Those numbers are substantially lower than its
lead-in, Dharma
& Greg, which averaged 10.9 million viewers and a 7.3 rating/11
share after two airings.
Spin
City will permanently fill Joan's 8:30 p.m. ET/PT slot
effective November 6.
Unfortunately, we never will get to see the episode
with
Mary Lynn air, but I will assume based on my contact from a month ago,
that it was an episode called "Joan
Sets Up Alice", wherein Jake introduces Joan to his friend,
Ben, who happens to be a chef looking to open his own restaurant.
Since we know that
Mary Lynn played a waitress in the episode, this is most likely
the one she appeared in. I will do my best to get a copy from the
network and have it available to anyone interested in seeing it. What
a bummer, I thought this show was really cute.
